Kambala School

Structus were awarded an MBA Excellence in Construction Award in 2011 for this project at the Kambala School in Rose Bay.

The new facility is a Multi-Purpose Centre which comprises classrooms, performance rooms, music practice rooms and a 1050m² multi-purpose tennis/basketball/netball sports court on the roof.

Structus worked in close collaboration with the Architect and Project Manager to resolve construction details for the boundary retaining walls, post-tensioned roof slabs, services, detailed acoustic engineering and finishes to work within the constraints of the project budget.

The project was built adjacent to the operating Music Building which is now integrated with the new structure. Strong planning and co-ordination was required to minimise inconvenience to the school’s students and staff.

The internal fit-out of the Multi-Purpose Centre includes all new sound insulated walls and ceiling finishes, floor finishes and services, a new Outfitters Room on the basement level and sixteen new performance and practice rooms on the ground level.
